Site Development
It seems that just about everybody has a brother or cousin that's a web designer, that's because publishing a web site is really easy. There are so many templates and easy to use tools available that just about anyone can create a web site in a matter of minutes. Unfortunatly that also explains why there are so many web sites that aren't getting results for their owners or are just plain repulsive to visitors. Just as owning a pencil doesn't make a person an accomplished artist, being able to publish a website doesn't make a person a good web designer.
There are many factors to consider when creating a website, some of these include, who is the intended audience, how will traffic be driven to the site, who will maintain the site and why do you need a site in the first place. Sometimes all of these needs can be satisfied with a cookie cutter approach or a less than expert touch, but if you need your site to generate qualified leads or sales, then you need something better than a run of the mill designer.
